This policy (together with the Terms of Service) sets out the basis on which we will use any personal data that you provide or we collect from you. Please read carefully.
The types of information that we collect, use and store fall under two general categories:
We collect personal information that you provide at the time of registering to use our subscription sites, purchasing other products, participating in voluntary surveys, or requesting from us information about our products or services. This includes identifying information, such as your name, address, email address, and telephone number, and, if you transact business with us, financial information such as your payment method (valid credit card number, type, expiration date or other financial information). We may also request demographic information about your level of experience, professional interests, gender, and age. We do not automatically collect any personal data that can identify you without your prior authorization.
We will not use personal information in a manner that identifies individuals or client organizations as the source of the data, except for the purposes for which they are collected. We will not share personal information with non-affiliates either for them to market to you or for joint marketing.
For the Sites where you have a user account, you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your user name and password. If you believe that confidentiality has been compromised, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Log Files, Cookies & Web Beacons
Like most web site servers, we use log files to automatically collect statistical information about how our Sites are used. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. We also use mobile analytics software to better understand the functionality of our mobile software. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events that occur within the application, aggregated usage, performance data, and where the application was downloaded from. We do not link the information we store within the analytics software to any personal information you submit within the mobile application.
Information provided by users and collected through cookies, log files, and/or third parties is tied to a user profile to improve the content of the Sites. This profile is also used to tailor a user’s visit to the Sites and to direct pertinent content to them.
Storage Of Personal Information
The Sites take industry standard and reasonable precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the Sites, their information is protected both online and offline. When you enter sensitive information on our sites, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and/or strong encryption (3DES) by a third party, which only uses your information for that purpose.
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the United States (US) or the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the US or the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers of services, such as data processors or providers of back up services. If you are visiting our website from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. This agreement is written in English (US). To the extent any translated version of this agreement conflicts with the English version, the English version controls.
The servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment in a locked facility. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Those employees are required to respect the confidentiality of our visitor’s personal data.
By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing and other processing. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is never completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Sites and accordingly any transmission is at your own risk. However, once we have received your information, we will use all appropriate procedures and security measures to try to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of your data.
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to update your personal information or cancel your account, please use the on-line feature or contact us at email@example.com. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Uses Of Information
Personal and non-personal information is used to deliver our products and services, manage our business any other internal purposes that we believe to be necessary. We will share information in the limited circumstances described below:
Sharing Required By Law
Although we make industry standard and reasonable effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law where we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on the Sites, to protect your rights, protect your safety or the safety of others and investigate fraud. We do not share personal information with third parties except as otherwise noted in this Statement.
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance with the user’s wishes. This service may be outsourced and performed by a trusted third-party.
Summaries of aggregated analyses may be presented to public audiences (e.g., at scientific conferences). In these summaries, individual client organizations and participant identities remain completely confidential, and results (due to aggregation) cannot be linked to individuals or client organizations. Innovations and improvements derived from aggregate analyses are used to improve Active Leadership LLC’s current and future systems and tools. By using our site, you agree to allow us to anonymously use the information from you and your experiences to continue our research into successful leadership. This research, conducted by psychologists and behavior research scientists, may be published in academic journals.
As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets and, depending on the transaction, your personal information may be one of the transferred assets. In the event that we are acquired by another company, your personal information may be part of the assets transferred to the acquiring party. If this occurs, you will be notified if there are any material changes to the way your personal information is collected or used.
Blogs, Chat Rooms, Message Boards, And Public Forums
We are not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these forums. To request removal of your personal information from our blog or community forum, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.
Promotion & Advertising
When purchasing an Active Leadership, LLC subscription or while visiting the Sites, we may provide you with advertisements, promotions, sweepstakes and offers from third party providers. These companies may use tracking technologies, such as cookies, to collect information about users who view or interact with their advertisements. We do not provide any personal information to these third parties.
You agree that we will not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of any such dealings, including the sharing of the information you supply to us with third party providers described here, or as the result of the presence of such providers on an Active Leadership, LLC site.
Links To Other Web Sites
Our Site contain links to and from the websites of third parties. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites may have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies or the treatment of your data by any third parties. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.
We post customer testimonials on our web site, which may, with prior consent contain personal information such as name and photograph. If, after providing initial consent, you wish to have your personal information removed from this section of our Site, please contact us atÂ email@example.com.
Refer A Friend Or Colleague
We encourage you to refer a friend and colleagues to our services. If you choose to use our referral service, we will ask you for your friend or colleague’s name and email address. We will keep this information in our database, and send that person a one-time e-mail containing your name and inviting them to visit the Sites. This e-mail will also include instructions on how to remove their information from our database. You agree that you will not abuse this feature by entering names and addresses of those who would not be interested in Active Leadership’s services. For some of our services, you may also give gift subscriptions to your colleagues, in which case we will use the e-mail address that you provide in order to deliver the gift.
You have the right to receive a copy of your personal information that we hold. Any such request may be subject to a fee to meet our costs in providing you with this information. At any time, you can contact us to inquire about the handling, use or disclosure of your personal information by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are concerned about how your personal information is being used, you have a right to complain and to expect your complaint to be handled in a sensitive and effective manner. We will investigate your complaint and advise you of the outcome of the investigation in a timely manner.
Protection Of Children’s Information
The Sites do not publish content or collect data that is directed at children.
